Bhangra Empire was an Indian folk dance group act from Season 5 of America's Got Talent. It was eliminated in the Vegas Round.


Bhangra Empire is a coed team that was founded in January of 2006. Members of the team hail from all over the Bay Area including San Jose, Fremont, Union City, Berkeley, Danville, Pleasanton, Palo Alto, and San Francisco. After gaining notoriety within the competitive bhangra circuit, on November 24th of 2009, Bhangra Empire had the honor of performing at the First State Dinner hosted by President Barack Obama and the First Lady, Michelle Obama. The event honored Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh and was held at the South Lawn of the White House.

Bhangra Empire continues to perform at a variety of events and productions, and maintains a strong presence on the bhangra circuit. 1


Bhangra Empire's audition in Episode 507 consisted of synchronized dancing to cultural Indian music. Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, and Howie Mandel all voted "Yes," sending the group to the Vegas Round.

Vegas RoundEdit

Bhangra Empire was one of the Judges' Favorites in the Vegas Round. It was sorted into the "Dance Acts" category. Its performance in Episode 511 consisted of again dancing to Indian music. Its audition was not strong enough for the judges to send it to the Quarterfinals, eliminating it from the competition.
