Cocoa Brown was a comedian from Season 2 of America's Got Talent. She was eliminated in the Vegas Round.

Background[]

Farah "Cocoa" Brown was born and raised in Newport News, Virginia. She attended and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BS in Mass Communications and attended and received a Masters in Secondary Education from the University of Phoenix. After graduation from VCU, Cocoa moved to the Washington, DC area where she worked in advertising for Feld Entertainment, which owns and operates Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus and Disney On Ice. In 1997, Cocoa left corporate America and pursued Stand up Comedy full time, shortly after winning the Washington Comedian of the Year, a dynamic accomplishment after only 7 months in the business. She has been acting since she was 10 years old, and minored in Theatre Arts while at VCU. She has also been a member of the Washington, DC sketch comedy group, Comedy Sportz. She lives in the Los Angeles area. 1

Audition[]

Cocoa Brown's audition in Episode 202 consisted of giving a comedy routine about what it's like being a larger woman. Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, and David Hasselhoff all voted "Yes", sending her to the Vegas Round.

Vegas Round[]

Cocoa Brown was sorted into the "Variety" category during the Vegas Round. Her performance in Episode 205 consisted of giving a comedy routine involving jokes about what not to do when the man comes home from Iraq. She proceeded to the Top 35 shortlist, but was not sent through to the Semifinals, eliminating her from the competition in Episode 206

After the Show[]

Cocoa achieved success as an actress, appearing as a regular on Tyler Perry's For Better or Worse, and in recurring roles on 9-1-1, Never Have I Ever and The Big Door Prize.
