Background[]

Colin Cloud, previously known as Colin McLeod, is from Scotland. Having been accepted into university at the age of just fifteen to study Forensic Investigation and with a passion for Criminal Profiling, it is no surprise he's developed near superhuman abilities, leading him to being described by his fans and the media as a modern-day, real-life Sherlock Holmes. Colin Cloud is an internationally respected mentalist. He is considered by his peers to be the next 'Derren Brown.' Colin’s skills have been taking him all over the world, from performing Off Broadway in New York and in London’s West End to Caesar Palace in Las Vegas and Magic Castle in Hollywood, Los Angeles.

Colin has performed sellout shows at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival, The Edinburgh International Magic Festival; headlined The Trickery, in Aberdeen, and The Stand Comedy Club in both Glasgow and Edinburgh on numerous occasions. His most recent stunt saw him making history and being the first individual to correctly predict the exact Tweets of other people, days in advance. His targets were Stephen Fry, Frankie Boyle, Ellie Goulding, Ricky Gervais and Richard Dawkins. His prediction was sealed in ice in Our Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh, before being smashed open under test conditions to reveal his thoughts were astonishingly accurate. [1]

He appeared as a contestant on Season 1 of Penn & Teller: Fool Us, but failed to fool the duo. He also competed on Britain's Got Talent in 2012, where he made it through the auditions but failed to reach the semifinals.

He is a member of the touring magic group; “The Illusionists” along with former AGT contestants Kevin James and Dan Sperry.

Audition[]

Colin Cloud's audition in Episode 1202 consisted of first having host Tyra Banks hold onto a bottle with a piece of paper in it above a box. First, Colin gave Howie Mandel a coin to hide in one of his hands. Reading his body movements, Colin guessed correctly which hand contained the coin. He then asked the audience to shout out random colors, animals, and names. For each of the next three judges, he associated a color choice (white or blue), animal choice (cat or cheetah), and name choice (Charlie or Oscar) for the hands of Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell respectively. Colin then revealed that the piece of paper had instructions to open the box and see what is inside. Inside was a white cat named Oscar, matching the choices corresponding to the judges' hands. Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell all voted "Yes," sending Colin to the Judge Cuts.

Judge Cuts[]

Colin Cloud's Judge Cuts performance in Episode 1208 consisted of first inviting Howie Mandel and Mel B to the stage. First, he asked Mel to pick a word describing herself and then licking her hand. He then correctly guessed what she ate. Next, he had the three other judges pick random digits for a six-digit phone password. Next, Colin got into the mindset of Howie and "influenced" him to pick the last three digits, successfully unlocking the phone. Next, Colin whispered words into Mel's mind with information only she would know about. Finally, he revealed a group of audience members with cards holding up the words "Goddess", exactly as Mel picked. Heidi Klum gave Colin a standing ovation. Colin's performance was strong enough for the judges to send him to the Quarterfinals.

Quarterfinals[]

Colin Cloud's Week 3 Quarterfinals performance in Episode 1215 consisted of first introducing his act as solving the murder of Simon Cowell right before it happens. Colin first invited Simon to sit on a bench on the stage. Next, Colin had Mel B point out a random audience member to come up on stage and write a reason to kill Simon on a piece of paper. Colin asked the audience to think of naughty memories in detail. Colin identified one such member and correctly guessed that member's naughty memory. Colin then asked the stage audience member to pick a knife from a stack of five. He then invited Mel onto the stage to plunge the knife into Simon's chest; the knife turned out to be rubber. Next, he revealed that a plaque on the bench actually already had the reason for murder engraved on the bench. Finally, he revealed that all four of the other knives were real. Colin finished in sixth, seventh or eighth place in America's Vote. In the Dunkin' Save, he received more online votes than Angelina Green and DaNell Daymon & Greater Works, advancing him to the Semifinals in Episode 1216.

Semifinals[]

Colin Cloud's Week 2 Semifinals performance in Episode 1219 consisted of first guessing Howie Mandel's iPhone passcode. Next, he discussed a message on the America's Got Talent Twitter account asking for celebrity, city, and object names [2]. Howie and Simon Cowell collected the printed responses in the crowd. After Mel B and Heidi Klum chose a printed response and individual tweet individually, Colin showed a pre-recorded video of him, undercover, mentioning the three phrases from the tweet to the judges before the show. Howie, Mel, Heidi, and Simon all gave him standing ovations. Colin finished in fourth, fifth or sixth place in America's Vote. In the Dunkin' Save, he received fewer online votes than Kechi. In the Judges' Choice, Simon Cowell, Mel B and Howie Mandel did not vote for him, eliminating him from the competition in Episode 1220 instead of Diavolo (Heidi Klum's vote was not needed).

The Champions Preliminary[]

Colin Cloud returned for The Champions.  Colin's performance in Episode TC05 consisted of asking the judges to throw paper balls toward the audience in which one was marked with an 'X'.  He Later requested Howie to think of a number and a letter, which he predicted correctly as 'L-3'. The person with the paper marked 'X' in the audience was asked to think of a celebrity and she replied David Hasselhoff, only to find him seated in the seat named L-3.  Howie Mandel , Mel B , Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell all gave him standing ovations.  Colin did not receive enough votes to place in the night's Top 3, eliminating him from the competition.

After The Champions[]

Colin returned as a guest performer in Episode TC207, teaming up with Champions 1 winner Shin Lim. The two perform together in the show "Limitless" at the Mirage in Las Vegas and across the country.  He later appeared as a guest performer in Episode 1520.

In 2022 Colin was a participant on Britain’s Got Talent: The Ultimate Magician in which he finished in the bottom 7 of the 10 acts.
