David "The Bullet" Smith was a human cannonball act from Season 7 of America's Got Talent. He was eliminated in the Quarterfinals.

Background

David "The Bullet" Smith was born to cannonball. The third of nine kids, he spent his childhood with his famous father, David "Cannonball" Smith Sr., travelling with the circus, and learning to ply the family trade. While two of his siblnigs opted to become professional projectiles, he planned to follow a less airborne path: law school. But when his father sustained a back injury on the job and asked David, age 19, to step in, The Bullet took his first exhilarating shot before a crowd. Ten years and hundreds of death-defying releases later (he was recently shot over the Grand Canyon at 80 kilometres per hour after being “fired” by Donald Trump), Smith Jr. continues to show off his aptitude for moving up in the world. 1

Audition

David "The Bullet" Smith's audition in Episode 707 consisted of shooting himself out of a cannon into a landing net a long distance away. Howard Stern, Sharon Osbourne, and Howie Mandel all voted "Yes," sending him to the Vegas Round.

Vegas Round

David "The Bullet" Smith was one of only three acts (the other two being Olate Dogs and William Close) to advance straight to the Quarterfinals in Episode 711 without auditioning in Las Vegas.

Quarterfinals

David "The Bullet" Smith's Quarterfinals performance in Episode 720 consisted of shooting himself out of a cannon through goal posts into a landing net 40 yards away and our cheerleaders dancing to "Let Me Entertain You" while holding a football. He did not receive enough votes to finish in at least fifth place in America's Vote, eliminating him from the competition in Episode 721 along with Ulysses, instead of Olate Dogs.
