Edgar was a family band act from Season 11 of America's Got Talent. They were eliminated in the Semifinals in the Judges' Choice.

BackgroundEdit

The Edgar family is from Toluca Lake, California. The band, founded on January 16, 2015, features Nikki Leonti-Edgar, Ryan Edgar, and Jaslyn Edgar. [1]

Nikki Leonti grew up with her family in church. When she was 13, she won a contest with a local Christian radio station. Within a year, she had a record deal, doing arena tours and traveling all over. When she met a guy, their relationship moved quickly; before she knew it, she was pregnant with Jaslyn. Stores began taking her records off the shelves, and radio stations took her songs off the air. She went from touring the country to being completely rejected by the gospel community.

Nikki went on to lend her vocals as a backing singer for artists such as Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, CeeLo Green, Demi Lovato & Amy Grant to name a few. As a sought-after vocalist in Los Angeles she contributes her talent to Fox's hit show "Glee" as well as "American Idol", "The Voice", CW's "Oh Sit" and many others. She has also had success with many Disney TV shows and the upcoming Disney Movie "Teen Beach Movie". Her writings have found their way to commercials for "Ford", over 20 film and movie placements in the last two years, as well as artists such as Robin Thicke and Candace Glover. She has made appearances on "Ellen", "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" as well as a debut acting role in the Fall release of "Eternity the Movie". She was also one half of the group Nikki & Rich. [2]

AuditionEdit

Edgar's audition in Episode 1102 consisted of singing The Pretenders' "I'll Stand By You". Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell all voted "Yes," sending the group to the Judge Cuts.

Judge CutsEdit

Edgar's Judge Cuts performance in Episode 1107 consisted of singing The Beatles' "Let It Be". Edgar's performance was strong enough for the judges to send the group to the Quarterfinals along with Linkin' Bridge.

QuarterfinalsEdit

Edgar's Week 3 Quarterfinals performance in Episode 1115 consisted of singing Carole King's "You've Got a Friend". Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell all gave the group standing ovations. Edgar received enough votes to be sent to the Semifinals in Episode 1116 instead of Julia Scotti and Vello Vaher.

SemifinalsEdit

Edgar's Week 1 Semifinals performance in Episode 1117 consisted of singing Rascal Flatts' "Bless The Broken Road". Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell all gave the group standing ovations. Edgar finished in fourth, fifth, or sixth place in America's Vote. In the Dunkin' Save, the group received fewer online votes than Tape Face. In the Judges' Choice, although Howie Mandel voted for the group, Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell and Mel B did not, eliminating the group from the competition in Episode 1118 instead of Laura Bretan.
