Hype competed on Season 5 of America's Best Dance Crew under the name "Hype 5-0", with Josh Ulep and several other members representing them. They came in 3rd place.

Audition[]

Hype's audition in Episode 801 consisted of dancing to a modernized version of "Singing to the Rain," dancing a routine the group claimed to have choreographed just the previous night. Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Howie Mandel all voted "Yes," sending the group to the Vegas Round, although they urged Hype to practice longer for its next performance.

Vegas Round[]

Hype was sorted into the "Dance" category in the Vegas Round. Its performance in Episode 808 consisted of dancing as a group to Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody." Hype's performance was strong enough for the judges to send it to the Quarterfinals along with Kid the Wiz in Episode 809.

Quarterfinals[]

Hype's Week 1 Quarterfinals performance in Episode 810 consisted of dancing as a group to a remixed version of Frank Sinatra's "I Won't Dance," ending with dancing in a water fountain on the stage. The group did not receive enough votes to be sent to the Semifinals in Episode 811, eliminating it from the competition along with Fresh Faces and Special Head.
