Mountain Faith Band was a bluegrass band from Season 10 of America's Got Talent. It was eliminated in the Semifinals.

Background[]

Mountain Faith, an awarded, accomplished bluegrass group is based in the mountains of Sylva, North Carolina. They have been singing and traveling together for over 14 years. Band members include Sam McMahan, on bass, Luke Dotson, guitar along with lead and harmony vocals, Corey Piatt on Mandolin, Summer McMahan, fiddle along with lead and harmony vocals and Brayden McMahan on banjo and harmony vocals.

Mountain Faith Band's members perform frequently at Dollywood becoming a crowd favorite over the years. They travel the bluegrass festival circuit, running alongside bluegrass’ top bands, all over the United States and Canada. Concert venues include civic centers, auditoriums, arenas, fair grounds, parks, churches and other locations. Recent SPBGMA awards "raised eyebrows" and drew more recognition for the band as they were the only band to have all members, but one, nominated for instrumental awards. [1]

Audition[]

Mountain Faith Band's audition in Episode 1006 consisted of performing a Bluegrass rendition of OneRepublic's "Counting Stars." Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Howie Mandel all voted "Yes," sending the group to the Judge Cuts round.

Judge Cuts[]

Mountain Faith Band's Judge Cuts performance in Episode 1010 consisted of performing a Bluegrass rendition of The Darkness's "I Believe In A Thing Called Love." The group's performance was strong enough for the judges to send it to the Quarterfinals instead of Cailyn Mathis and Stacey Kay.

Quarterfinals[]

Mountain Faith Band's Week 3 Quarterfinals performance in Episode 1016 consisted of performing a Bluegrass rendition of Walk the Moon's "Shut Up and Dance." Mountain Faith Band received enough votes to be sent to the Semifinals in Episode 1017 instead of Selected of God.

Semifinals[]

Mountain Faith Band's Week 1 Semifinals performance in Episode 1018 consisted of performing a Bluegrass rendition of The Weeknd's "Can't Feel My Face." Mountain Faith did not receive enough votes to be sent to the Finals in Episode 1019, eliminating the group from the competition along with Metal Mulisha Fitz Army, instead of Derek Hughes.

After The Show[]

The band has since broken up and in 2024, Summer auditioned for Season 25 of The Voice in which she did not get a chair turn.
