Henry Richardson is from Brooklyn, New York. After practicing his act on his bus for hours at a time, he was inspired to pursue magic after watching America's Got Talent regularly with his father. The two would always root for the magicians on the show, because they both love magic. When Henry started magic, his father was always supportive. He would help him and encourage him to do more. But unfortunately, when Henry was 9, he found out that his dad had lung cancer. Henry was devastated when he found out this news. Soon his dad passed away, and Henry stopped doing magic because it reminded him of his dad. But he realized that magic was a positive influence on him, so he started to get back into magic. Now, he hopes to make his father proud with his magic.
Henry Richardson's audition in Episode 1205 consisted of first having Mel B sign a random playing card. Next, he depicted an illusion of switching a card from his hand to Mel's. Next, he had Simon Cowell pick a random image from a scratch pad (a soccer ball). Finally, he had Mel tear a card in half, revealing a soccer ball picture inside the card. Howie Mandel, Mel, Heidi Klum, and Simon all voted "Yes", sending Henry to the Judge Cuts.
Henry Richardson's Judge Cuts performance in Episode 1210 consisted of having Heidi Klum sign a playing card. Next, he showed the judges how he hides cards while in school: first, by making the cards in the deck translucent and second, by revealing the signed card hidden in an unopened Pop-Tarts pastry. Henry's performance was not strong enough for the judges to send him to the Quarterfinals, eliminating him from the competition along with Will Tsai.
