Lightwire Theater was a light-up puppet group act from Season 7 of America's Got Talent. It was eliminated in the Semifinals.

Background

Lightwire Theater uses electro-luminescent wire to create characters. Rarely used in a theatrical setting, this technology creates characters designed to combine dance, puppetry and a glow-in-the-dark show. 1

Audition

Lightwire Theater's audition in Episode 701 consisted of using light-up suits to portray dinosaurs and trees to the song, "Doomsday." Howard Stern, Sharon Osbourne, and Howie Mandel all voted "Yes," sending the act to the Vegas Round.

Vegas Round

Lightwire Theater was one of the Judges' Favorites in the Vegas Round. It was sorted into the "Novelty Acts" category. Its performance in Episode 711 consisted of again using light-up suits to portray dinosaurs and moving trees glowing in the dark. The group's audition was strong enough for the judges to send it to the Quarterfinals in Episode 712 along with All Beef Patty, Aurora Light Painters, and Joe Castillo.

Quarterfinals

Lightwire Theater's Quarterfinals performance in Episode 718 consisted of performing a story of a duckling encountering many larger birds. It received enough votes to be sent to the Semifinals in Episode 719 instead of All Beef Patty and Inspire the Fire.

Semifinals

Lightwire Theater's Semifinals performance in Episode 728 consisted of performing with its luminescent puppets a story of dinosaurs fighting each other with weapons resembling lightsabers. The group received enough votes to be revealed as one of the Top 4 of the second Semifinal round instead of All That! and Shanice & Maurice Hayes.. Lightwire Theater was later revealed to have finished in either third or fourth place in America's Vote. In the Judges' Choice, although Sharon Osbourne voted for it, Howard Stern and Howie Mandel did not, eliminating Ligtwire Theater from the competition in Episode 729 instead of David Garibaldi and His CMYK's.
