Season 8 of America's Got Talent premiered on June 4, 2013. It concluded on September 18, 2013. After six seasons on the show, Sharon Osbourne has left the show with Mel B replacing her. This is also the first season of the series where there are four judges on the panel, as Heidi Klum is the new fourth judge.

Snapple continues to be the official beverage sponsor of America's Got Talent and its products will be featured on the show throughout the season, along with their cups on the judges' desk.

America's Got Talent shot live shows from Radio City Music Hall in New York City, after moving from the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Season 7.

The Season 8 Quarterfinals consisted of 60 acts split into 5 weeks of 12 acts competing, with 4 moving on from each week.

The Season 8 Semifinals consisted of the 20 acts that moved on from the Quarterfinals, plus 4 Wild Card acts, chosen by each of the judges, that were previously eliminated, split into two weeks, with twelve acts performing and six moving on each week.

The Season 8 Finals consists of, first, the twelve acts that moved on from the Semifinals competing in one week for 6 spots, and then, in the finals, the six acts compete for the million dollars and possible headlining show in Las Vegas.
