Sharon Irving was a singer from Season 10 of America's Got Talent. She was eliminated in the Semifinals.

Background[]

Sharon Irving is a native of Chicago, born and raised on the South Side and daughter of famed jazz musician and musical director of Miles Davis, Robert Irving III.

Sharon began her artistic journey as a young girl. She always had dreams of becoming an actress and singer. She began pursuing an artistic journey as a worship leader during her time at North Park University, located on the north west side of Chicago. Majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Sociology, she developed a heart for racial reconciliation and social justice. She realized that she wanted to be a “voice for the voiceless” through spoken word & song. She was a featured vocalist and spoken word artist on the North Park University Album. She wrote her first spoken word piece around justice during that time.

In 2010 Sharon released her first spoken word EP entitled “Simplicity”. The EP was a family affair, produced by her younger brother Jeremy Irving aka Jeremiah Jae & her father.

Currently Sharon is on staff and a part of the worship team at Willow Creek Community church in South Barrington IL. She has traveled extensively to lead worship and perform spoken word in other churches across America. As a solo artist Sharon has lead worship alongside artist Darlene Zschech. She led worship & spoken word for the renowned event, CHIC – “a triennial youth event intended to encourage and equip students to invite Jesus to remake their lives and to take Jesus to the rest of the world.” [1]
