The Duttons were a family band from Season 2 of America's Got Talent. They were eliminated in the Top 10.

Background[]

The Duttons are from Branson, Missouri. They are international touring and recording artists that play everything from bluegrass to classical in their shows, featuring a variety of instruments: violin, guitar, bass, viola, banjo, mandolin, keyboard, harmonica and drums among others. The Duttons have not only won recognition in national fiddling contests, and as studio musicians but have also garnered praise and awards in classical violin competitions.

In addition to their instrumental virtuosity, the Duttons are accomplished singers and dancers and have been recognized as superb vocal talents. Behind the scenes, The Duttons collaborate to create unique production ideas for their shows which delight audiences. The show is self-produced by the family including choreography, musical arrangement, technical support, production, and marketing. 1

Audition[]

The Duttons' audition in Episode 201 consisted of the family playing instruments such as violins, banjos, and guitars. Piers Morgan buzzed the act. Although Piers voted "No," claiming the family needed to reduce their act to the six core members, Sharon Osbourne, and David Hasselhoff voted "Yes", sending the group to the Vegas Round.








Vegas Round[]

The Duttons were sorted into the "Music" category during the Vegas Round. Their performance in Episode 205 consisted of playing instruments as a group. Their audition was strong enough for the judges to send them to the Semifinals in Episode 206.








Semifinals[]

The Duttons' Semifinals performance in Episode 208 consisted of performing "La Bamba". Piers Morgan buzzed the act. Nevertheless, they received enough votes to be sent to the Top 10 the following week.

Top 10[]

The Duttons' Top 10 performance in Episode 209 consisted of performing and singing "The Devil Went Down to Georgia." Piers Morgan buzzed the act. The family did not receive enough votes to be sent to the Final 8, eliminating them from the competition in Episode 210.

Trivia[]

  • The Duttons were the first televised act Sharon Osbourne ever voted "Yes" to.
  • They were the first act of Season 2 whose audition was televised that progressed past the audition round.
  • The Duttons are the only known finalist to have been buzzed in every performance this could also apply to Celtic Spring but it is unknown if they got buzzed in their audition.

After The Show[]

A third generation of The Duttons appeared on Nickelodeon's "America's Most Musical". They were eliminated in the qualifiers.
